Privacy Statement

EMSANET Internet Services, Inc. is committed to protecting your right to privacy on our portal. To help you make the appropriate decisions as you use our service, we are sharing with you our policy regarding the capture and usage of member data. Above all else, we want you to feel comfortable. If you have any remaining questions, please feel free to contact us at help@emsanet.com.

What personal information will be collected from you?

When you choose to subscribe to EMSANET and register as a member, you will be asked to provide your billing information:

  • Your name, email address, zip code, a sign in name, password, and reminder question and answer along with your credit card information.

After registration, you will be asked to provide other information if you choose to use the following additional features, including but not limited to:

  • To enter a sweepstakes, contest, or promotion
  • To make a purchase through one of our partner merchants
  • To participate in a poll or survey
  • To report a problem with one of our services

In addition, several of the services on the EMSANET portal are provided by partner companies, and these companies also collect information in order to provide their services. For example, when making a purchase in the EMSANET marketplace, you may be required by the merchant to provide your shipping address and credit card number. These partners may not follow the same privacy policies that EMSANET does; please make sure to read their privacy policies before providing information on their sites.

How will your information be used?

EMSANET will use the information you supply for these purposes:

  • To keep you up to date with news from your group and the portal
  • To verify your identity if you lose your password
  • To measure traffic, detect trends, and improve the EMSANET service

Who will have access to your information?

EMSANET will not disclose any of your information except under the following circumstances:

  • You have given your permission
  • To comply with applicable law or valid legal process
  • To protect the personal safety of our members or the public

In addition, EMSANET works with many partner companies to help provide services to you. EMSANET will handle your information as follows:

  • For portal services that are provided by partner companies, EMSANET will share necessary data with these partners in order to provide you with a seamless member experience. In addition, information that you give to our partners as you use their sites may be shared with EMSANET.
  • For portal services that are hosted at third party locations, the operators of these third-party locations are prohibited from making use of any information about you that may be stored on their servers.
  • For notification services that are implemented by outside agencies, EMSANET will share only enough information to perform the required service, and the agency will be prohibited from using your information for any other purpose.
  • For an affinity group who has sponsored your EMSANET portal, EMSANET may share aggregate traffic and usage information, as well as personal information such as email address.

Please note that many of the services we provide access to - including online chat, message boards, email, and auctions - inherently involve the public sharing of information. We urge you to use caution and common sense in sharing your sensitive information in these forums.

Finally, while EMSANET portals are not directed at children, we urge children to always ask a parent before sending personal information to any portal or any Web site.

How will your information be protected against loss, misuse, or alteration?

EMSANET takes extensive steps to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under our control. All information is stored on secure servers and is regularly backed up. Access to information within EMSANET is limited to those personnel who need to use the information for the purposes described herein. EMSANET personnel are prohibited from using or disclosing your information in any other way.

How does EMSANET use cookies?

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies will be readable only by the EMSANET portal, and the EMSANET portal cannot read any other cookies on your computer. Cookies are nothing more than a small file of data; they cannot run applications, read other data, or change settings on your computer. EMSANET is using cookies for the following purposes:

  • To remember your identity and account information when you return to the site
  • To identify which portal you belong to
  • To measure traffic patterns on our System "the portal"
